Kazakh telco Transtelecom denies freezing JV with Russia’s BI.ZONE

ALMATY, Nov 1 (PRIME) -- Kazakh connection operator Transtelecom has denied media reports about mothballing of an IT project developed together with Russian company Safe Information Zone, BI.ZONE, Transtelecom said late on Monday.

“The projects started by Transtelecom in partnership with company Safe Information Zone in 2019 have been implemented successfully. The terms of the contracts are confidential,” the company said.

Media reported earlier quoting several sources that Kazakhstan put on hold a 2.4 billion ruble joint IT project with Russia. Experts explained the move by Kazakhstan’s intention to distance from Russian firms.

Transtelecom said it signed a memorandum of cooperation on industrial cybersecurity with Safe Information Zone in 2019.
